About Wellsville, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Wellsville, Missouri is a city found in Montgomery County. Approximately 1,200 people call this community home. Wellsville was founded in 1856, and the post office was opened the following year. The community is named for Carter Wells, the original owner of the land, and it is a quick drive to some of the state’s largest cities – Columbia is 50 miles southwest of Wellsville, and St. Lois is 90 miles to the southeast.
While there aren’t any major attractions located in Wellsville, there are some prominent businesses that both visitors and residents might like to check out. Specialty shops are common in the community, with destinations like Flowers by Barbara, Family Pharmacy, and Hopper’s Appliance found here. This region of Missouri is a great destination for antique hunters, many of whom like to make a stop at Ohana Flea Market and Antiques. There are also several restaurants in the community, including Dairy Mart, Carmichael’s Café, and Teddy Joe’s Bar and Grill.
Summers in Wellsville are typically hot and humid, which is common for a humid continental climate zone. Average high temperatures can extend into the 90s, and to stay comfortable, most residents invest in a central air conditioner. Not only do these systems keep indoor temperatures cool, but they are also beneficial for people who suffer from allergies and asthma. A new unit will be efficient at improving indoor air quality.
Wellsville winters are cold and snowy, depending on the year. Average high temperatures usually reach about 34 degrees in January, but there are many days where thermostat readings fail to surpass the freezing point. A gas or electric furnace is an important investment, especially considering that low temperatures fall into the teens overnight. Without the right climate controls, homes and businesses would be at risk of damage due to frozen pipes and plumbing systems.
