About Vandalia, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Vandalia, Missouri is a city found in portions of Audrain and Falls Counties. About 4,200 people call this community home, which includes the inmates incarcerated at the Women's Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center. Vandalia was originally founded in 1871, and the post office was opened that same year. The city is named for Vandalia, Illinois, which is located about 165 miles to the southeast.

While there aren’t any major attractions located in Vandalia, there are a few prominent businesses. Several restaurants call the community home, including Spare Time Bowl and Grill, Mi Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, and the Country Cupboard. There are some specialty shops found here, such as Memories from the Heart Flower Shop and Waters W S Furniture. Outdoor recreational facilities are also available at Tri County Park, Daniels Park, and South School Park.

Residents in search of larger attractions need only to make a short dry to nearby Columbia, which is home to the University of Missouri. Rock Bridge Memorial State Park and Stephens Lake Park provide ample recreational opportunities. Other popular destinations include the Columbia Mall and Shryocks Callaway Farms.

The Vandalia area experiences varied weather conditions throughout the year, which is common for humid continental climates. During the winter, conditions are usually cold and snowy, with high temperatures that struggle to surpass the mid-30s. To stay comfortable, residents rely on their gas or electric furnace. Regular maintenance, especially during the warmer autumn months, will ensure that these systems are operating safely and efficiently.

The spring months are short and pleasant, and they lead into hot, muggy summer conditions. High temperatures reach well into the 80s, with some days witnessing thermostat readings into the upper-90s. The right central air conditioning unit will keep home and business temperatures cool while also improving the quality of indoor air.
